Functional Skills Maths often provides a more flexible and practical route towards gaining a recognised maths qualification for employment, apprenticeships and further study.

Functional Skills is a nationally recognised qualification. It develops the practical skills of mathematics in the workplace and everyday life which may appeal to learners who originally found the GCSE Foundation maths format difficult. For many learners, it provides a flexible and relevant pathway to achieving a recognised maths qualification.

Usually, we undertake an assessment and initial discussion to determine the best route to take.

Yes, we would do our best to accommodate gaps in the week to ensure the student can attend weekly tutoring sessions.

Tutoring alone will not necessarily be enough. Additional practice – either as homework or self-study – will greatly increase a learner’s chances of passing the Functional Skills Maths examinations.
